Villa Piccolomini stands on the Janiculum, with a park overlooking the dome of St Peter's: for me it remains the most beautiful wedding location in Rome, and I do not say that as a formula. It is the place where the city enters the photograph without leaving the garden.
Working here means handling two subjects at once: the couple and a skyline no backdrop can imitate. My approach alternates tight portraits under the park's trees with wide frames where the dome closes the composition.
Rome is also the city of my engagement sessions: couples marrying at Villa Piccolomini can add a sunrise session in the historic centre, when the streets are empty and the light is still pink.
